POSTMASTER-GENERAL'S VISIT. ' (By Teleeraph.-BBCcial CorrwrondenU Wanganul, May 3. The election of three members of tho Kaitoko Road Board resulted in the return of. Messrs. D. Blyth, A. Cameron, and M'lntosh. The Tyser liner Nerehann, now loading in the Roadstead, takes the following cargo from this port:—l3,o7(l carcasses and 1077 crates of mutton, 5009 carcasses lamb, 207 quarters beef, 830 bales wool, 205 casks tallow, and various sundries. Tho rainfall in Wanganm 'in ,April totalled 4.91 inches, as against 3.0G inches for the previous April. . After a busy two days in Wanganui, the Hon. H. G. Ell left for tho Mannwatu district-to-day, Last evening,, in reply to a request from the Mayor of /N anganui East, the' Minister promised to obtain an immediate report on the matter of establishing a now central Post Office at Wanganui East, in place of the two small offices now existing. A site in the centre of the suburb has already been presented for a now Post Office. _■••■' During his stay here Mr. Ell availed himself; of an invitation from tho Harbour Board to inspect the harbour works at Castlecliff.' where evidently he -was very surprised and impressed with • tho results obtained. He said that as a member of tho Lscnl Bills Committco he had listened carefully to the evidence on the Boards Empowering Bill last year, and came to a decision on what ho heard. N'ow, however, that he had been actually on the spot and seen for himself what had been done, he had come t/j a different conclusion, and was satisfied that the works would bo a success.
