A wireless message received from the Union Company's steamer Maunganui, which is en route from Sydney to Wellington, states that she will arrive in port at 8.15 a.m. to-day. The Union Steamship Co. has received advice of the launching of a- new steamer named the ICaranui, at Sunderland. She is a vessel of 800 tons, and will be ready to sail shortly for New Zealand, whore she will be engaged iu the coastal trade. This week the Union Company's collier Kurow is to load a cargo of coal «t Westport for tho Naval depot at Sydney. Some time this month the new Tyser liner Makarini is to leave London for Wellington, via Australian ports and Auckland. This vessel is tho largest of the fleet, and has accommodation for 850 immigrants, which number she brings a& far as Melbourne. Captain Hugh Hollis is in command. Latest charters include tho steamer Inga, 948 tons. She is to take a cargo of hardwood timber from Clarence River to New Zoaland porta. The barque Jessie Craig, 653 tons, is to ship about 250 tons of boncdust at Sydney before going to Newcastle, where she will fill up with coal for Auckland. From Newcastle the barqucntino Wanganui (ex Carla) is to bring a cargo of coal to' Wauganui. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, who relinquished the agency of the Pa tea Shipping Company's steamers some little time ago, have, since the reconstruction of that company, resumed their position, and from May 1 will act a>s joint-agents in tho Wanganui trade with the newly-formed South Taranaki Shipping Co., Ltd. Next Monday the Anchor Line's steamer Nikau will undergo her annual overhaul at Nelson. Meantime the service between Nelson and Wellington will be maintained by tho Alexander. Commander E. F. Daldy, R.X.R., of the R.M.S. Nile, has been offered and accepted the post of marine superintendent ashore to the P. and O. Company at Bombay. Commander Daldy is well known in Australia where he has many friends. On Sunday next the Tysor liner Indrabarah is due at Wellington from Napier. Home loading will be completed here, and departure taken for London the following Wednesday. The Shaw, Savill R.M.S. Corinthic will leave Wellington for Lyltelton at 4 p.m. to-day. The auxiliary scow Echo left Karamea for Lytfcdton on Saturday. The vessel loads for Blenheim at tho latter port. From Waitnra the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Wakaim is due at Wellington to-morrow. The Hurunui should nut in an appearance from Napier on the following day. Surrey, IVIf.-S. boat, is scheduled to leave Wellington for Lyltelton to-morrow. Bringing part cargo of, coal for this port tho Union Company's Gtenmer Whangape is duo from Westport early to-mor-row morning. Tho vessel proceeds to Lyttclton to complete discharge.

A Press Association message received from Lyttelton states that the Union Company's steamVr Karori cicared for Sydney with a full cargo of oats at 6.20 p.m. yesterday. At 5 p.m. on Friday the Hauroto left Fiji for Auckland. The vessel is due at this port about Friday next.
