The tourney wag conducted at the stadium, erected in connection with the Wellington Industrial Exhibition, and although popular priceo wero fixed, the attendance was not up to tho usual standard. Tho first of ' thoso was on August 22 at tho Town Hall, . when the principal item was a fiftcen- ' round contest between W, Hannan and 1 Arthur Kelly, two light-weights from Sydney. The former proved the victor oa ; points, after a clean mid vigorous exhibition by both contestants. Preliminaries were supplied by Joplin and Kutner (feather-weights), Clifford and Humo (mid-dle-weights), the first-named being tho winner in each case. .On September 22 Hannan was again scon in action in a 1 contest with T. Tho third tournament was arranged tor November 14, tho "star" item being :i boat, of fifteen rounds between Billy Elliott and Frank Fitzjohn,_ of Sydney— t rn of tho best feather-weights seen in Now Zealand for some years. During the year the association controlled a series of contests promoted among members of tho Territorial forces, with some success, and contests under the auspices of the military authorities will probably becomn frequent and popular. The association was represented at the New Zealand at Invercargill by Kntney (bantam), , Ellis (feather), M'Carthy (light), Tanered (welter). Although each gave a very creditable display, no championships were annexed. The team was canably managed by Mr. .T. E.
