SYDNEY'S FISH SUPPLY.
THOROUGHLY UNSATISFACTORY STATE. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Hec. March 26, 9 p.m.) Sydney, March 26. An interim report has been tabled by the Royal Commission appointed by the State Government in July last to inquire into tho cost of living, in relation to the prices of fish, fruit, vegetables,, milk, bread, and meat, and in relation to production, transport, export trade, industrial legislation, adulteration, etc. . The commissioners in their present report deal with the.fish supply. They state that during tho last decade pricees increased by from 30 to 100 per cent. The supplies are irregular, but when there is a glut in the markets the consumers do not benefit. Although tho commissioners were unable tp trace tho existence of a ring, the position is described as thoroughly unsatisfactory. The development of deep sea trawling by tho Government is recommended.
