At a meeting of the National Peace and Anti-iniilarist Council it was.resolved to empower the executive to arrange for counsel to defend lads having ivligious or conscientious objections to service under the present Defence Act, and to invite (he lads prosecuted under the provisions of the Act to communicate with tho secretary of the council.
It was further resolved, in view of the prosecutions, to at once proceed with a vigorous organisation campaign. Mr. ('. K. N. Maekie was appointed national organiser, and will immediately tour I lie Dominion for the purpose of forming leagues and organising those who arc op" posed'to (ho compulsory sections of the Act.
