LOADING S.S. MOERAKI AT SYDNEY.
CAPTAIN AS WIKCIIMAX. Consignees of what little cargo arrived from Sydney by the Moeraki yesterday have to thauk tho officers of ilic ship, the clerics in tho Sydney office of the Union Company, and officers of other Union Company's vessels at Sydney for its reaching New Zealand. The Ulimaroa, which arrived from the New South Wales port, during tlio previous week, was unable to ship any cargo for NewZealand owing to the wharf labourers' strike on the other side, but somo 240 tons of general cargo and a quantity of fruit came to hand by the Moeraki yesterday. Tho improvised "stevedores" worked with a wilt, and the shore stall trundled the various packages on to tho wharf and did the hooking on, while the ship's officers did the stowing. Even Captain P.olls, the master of tho vessel, acted as a winchman. The vessel was not delayed at Sydney, and got awav well up to time. Upon tho cargo being landed on the Wellington wharf yesterday morning it was found to be in excellent condition and showed no signs of being handled or mishandled by "new chums.
