MOVING PICTURES.

TITEIR EDUCATIONAL VALUE. (By Telegraph.—Snocial Correspondent.) ' Auckland, October 25. Tho committee of school teachers in charge of tho trial kinematograph lesson , which was held at tho Hoyal Albert Hall ' in August last liavo furnished a report on tho result of the experiment. The re- ■ port says there were over 800 children } present," admission being Id. per child. f After careful deliberation tho committee f»assed unanimously tho following resell tions:— (1) Aloving pictures are without doubt of great educational value. They are unj rivalled, in portraying the nature and ; habits of animals, of industries, and of 3 scenery in which the movement of riv- " crs, trees, etc., is involved. The only 0 serious drawback is the flicker of the 3 pictures, and until this is remedied it is not advisablo to look continuously at ? the screen for any length of time. - (2) Owing to difficulties of organisation and the timo spent in travelling, it is not advisable to hold similar lessons to the trial one as a regular thing. 1 (3) It would bo practicable, however, 1 to arrange for kinematograph lessons in i various city and suburban halls at which 3 children from one or two schools only v would attend at one time.
