It is proposed to hold the next meoting of tho council next November at the time of tho Dunedin summer show. SNOW IN CHRISTCHURCH. Christchurch, September 29. North Canterbury is experiencing mixed and unwelcome weather. Yesterday was bright and summer}', but a south-west galo sprang up last ovening with frequent showers. Towards morning tho temperature fell, some snow foil in the city, and thero was heavy hail and sleet. There has been a heavy fall of snow inland, and when tho clouds lifted this morning, the Port Hills wero seen to bo smothered. Farmers in town to-day express the fear that tho chango from yesterday has been disastrous to the lambs. BAD WEATHER AT BLENHEIM. Blenheim, September 29. A southerly blizzard ragea during the night, and the hilLs surrounding the town arc now covered with a mantle of snow. The fall was heavier than it has been for somo years. Orchardists fear that the early crop will be considerably damaged. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Christchurch, SeDtemher 29. There is no change to report in the local grain market, there beint: no business passing in wheat, and oats are scarco and firm. Oalsheaf cliaff is firmer, and is now worth 85s. to 90s. per ton at country ftation3 in conseouence of supplies cotting shorter, and in sympathy with tho advanced price of oats. Potatoes are very dull of sale, only a very limited business being done with Auckland: other northern markets not requiring supplies at prcEent. Most buyers are not offerinc more than 305.. and it- is reported that a sale has been made na low as 275. 6d. at a country station. Growers generally are. however, not prepared to accept less than 325. 6d.
