VALUABLE CLYDESDALES FOR N.Z. According to a London correspondent of ii southern paper, tlie steamer ICia ,Orn, duo on September 22, is bringing out a four-year-old Clydesdale stallion, Black 'Douglas, bred by Mr. G. Alston, of Darvel, Ayrshire, which animal has been purchased by Mr.' J. Boag. Black Doug'as is by Eevelanta—Baron's Pride, and tojik first prize at. the Glasgow Stallion f>iiow, and sceond at the Highland Show as a yearling. As a two-year-old he got speend at Glasgow, and fourth at the Highland Show; as a three-year-old, third ?u t'r? .Highland, ami this year fifth at the Highland. According to the same authority, fcho Clydesdale lnare Bathgate for Mr. E. Short, of Pnrorangi, Feilding, is also 011 board, as well as a prize Bomney lamb for Mr. Short. Balnakill is out of the same mare as Sir Dighlon. From Mr.. James Kilpatriek, Craigie Mains, Kilmarnock, Mr. Mackenzie has bought at a long price the big four-year-old Casabianca Again. He is by the champion horse Casabia.nca, a son of the famous Baron's Pride, and out of a, dam of the well-known premium horse Royal Alexander, while his' grand-dam was by Cairnbrogio Stamp. Two horses have bran brought from Mr. Matthew Marshall, Bridgend, Stranrear. One is a three-year-old, Prince Cellus, by the'champion Marcellus, out of a stylish good breeding mare by the famous Sir Everard, the sire of Baron's Pride. It will thus be seen that Prince Cellus has a famous uncestry, and if individual merit counts for anything, he is full of it. The other Bridgend horse is Procurator, by the CanJor imported champion Memento, a sire Df great size, combined ,with excellent quality. Another large-sized three-year-3kl is John. Daruley, by Darnley Again, fie was bought from Messrs. A. and W. Montgomery, Netherhalland Banks, Ivirkjudbright, but was bred by Jlr. James iVestwood, Dalreoch. Darnley Again was ;he winner of a second prizo at tho Highlaud and Agricultural Society's Show. IMPORTATIONS FROM AMERICA— HOLSTEIN-FRIESIANS. The Aorangi, which arrived from San Francisco yesterday, brought 110 fewer than seventeen head of Holstcin-Friesian ;attle, selected from herds in Wisconsin led Brockiow (Massachusetts) by Mr. W. [. Lovelock, of Pahnerston North, for rarious farmers in the Wellington province. The whole of the animals are bred 'rom the best strain, and are a distinct icquisition to New Zealand herds. The xosts s.re for the following farmers-.— Messrs. C. C. Hopping, of Eongotea; J. lart, Dannevirke; A. J. Harris, Feathers:on; W. J. Remnant, Wocdvillc; and J. jeprgins, Tobomaru. They will be distrimted as soon as tho fiuarantine regulaions have bsen complied with.
