' In tho Legislative Assembly, the Parliamentary Elections Amendment' Bill, dealinff with alterations and extensions of the franchise, was reintroduced. The Liberals strongly opposed tho measure, which, they urged, would mean delaying the general elections for a year. Mr. Wood again came into conflict with tho Speaker, and was removed from the House. Tho franchise in New Sonth Wales extends to all adult naturalised subjects of either sex who have resided in tho State continuously for one year after naturalisation, and to all adult natural-born subjects who have resided in the State for a continuous period of ono year.
