STRIKE COMMISSION. NON-UNIONIST EVIDENCE. By Tclograph— Press Association-Copyright (Rec. September 11, 1.10. p.m.) London, September 13. A non-unionist signalman, giving ovi<lenco boforo tho Railway Strike Commission, said tho agitation leading to the establishment of tho Conciliation Board system in 1907 was the artificial product of tho leaders of tho Railway Servants' Society. Tho majority of the signalmen did not desire an ultimatum demanding the recognition of the union, as they had obtained valuable concessions, and considered it inopportune to mako tho fresh excessivo demands which had been the cause of the recent trouble. London, September 12. A non-unionist testified before the Railway Striko Commission that the majority of the men were against the recognition of unions. -The witness said he favoured a sectional board confined to tho grado having the grievance, with an outside chairman. He added: "Nonunionists have to consider tho question of organisation." ANOTHER STRIKE THREATENED. London, September 12. The North-Western railway men are agitating for a national strike unless the Board of Trade reopens Fry's award, which , settled tho labour conditions for all grades until 1913. The Midland railway men at Burton-on-Tront ask for a. national strike unless the Board of Trade prevents the penalising of recent strikers. GENERAL STRIKE AT BILBAO. Madrid, September 12. The trade, unions at Bilbao have declared a general strike. THE SHEARERS' CASE. (Rec. September 13, 9,35 p.m.) Sydney, September 13. The Federal Arbitration Court has concluded the taking of evidence in connection with the claim of the Australian Workers' Union against the Pastoralists' Federal Council. The proceedings started in May, and the hearing of tho evidence occupied fiftythree days. Enormous quantities of documentary evidence were also put in. Council have now bogan their addresses. THE LITHGOW STRIKE. (Roc. September 13, 1.25 a.m.) Sydney, September 13. The ironmoulders threaten to refuse to work pig-iron .produced by non-unionists at the Lithgow Ironworks. The bounty paid by the Federal Government to Mr Hoskins, proprietor of the ironworks, to date amounts to .£51,794.
