AN ASHBURTON PROTEST. (By Telejraph-Presa Associatioa.l Asliburlon, July 31. At tho annual niMtiug of the Ashburton Trotting Club to-night, the following resolution was unanimously carried:— "That this meeting of members of Hie 'Ashburton Trotting Club enters a strong protest against, the action of the Kacing Commission in depriving it of two days' racing in tho year. Weeing that. Ashburton is one of the principal centres for the breeding of trotters iu the Dominion, it considers that tho Kacing Commission, in depriving it of two days' racing instead of one as intended, has committed a gross injustice, against tho breeders and owners of trotting horsasin this locality."
