During the night of June 14 the destroyers Zephyr and Zebra were in collision at tho mouth of tho Thames while currying out r.ight exercises. The stern of the Zephyr scooped along the upper deck on [he port side of tho Zebra, sweeping into the sea one of her Gpoundsr quick-firing suns, her whaler, and davits, and also a portion of the rail guard. Tho Zephyr's bow was extensively damaged by the glancing blow, the stem being- considerably (lattvr.cd and bent over to starboard. The injury was all abovo the water-line. Naturally when the curtain wns lowered without the Bacchanale being given, the audience at once thought another quarrel had occurred, and although Mr. Ilutt explained the reason they refused to bo comforted and loudly voiced their annoyance.
