SENSATION AT WAAHI. (Bj Teleerapb.—SncoiM Correspondent.! Palmerston, July 31. During tho big korero at Waahi there has been present a Native from Taupo who has taken no active part in tho proceedings, but lnis been remarkably self-contained. Ho caused a tremendous sensation to-day by presenting, for the purposes of his maiia, an area cf 130,088 acres on behalf of himself (lloneri Whakarehu), his wife (Makuini), and nino members of his family, reserving over and above that: n huge ami of some l-10.000 acres for himself and his family. The land, which is situated in various parts of the Taupo district, comprises tho fcllowhiß blocks •-■\Vhangamala, SOOO acres; Rolokawo, 2853 acres; Tualcau, 30,000 acres; To 'Waimahaiia, 1200 acres; Kokahi, 18,000 acres; Kaimaiiawa, 30,000 acres; Waikare, 27.000 acres; Atakaha, 300 acres; l'aeroa Kawhiti, 12,000 acres. The Whangamala Block contains a large area of tetara, while, on To \\ aimahana are hot and sulphur springs. A great deal of this land is first and secondclass, although a large parcel is ot a puniico nature.
