(From Our Special CorresDondent.) • 9 The tenth annual report of the Petone Rowing Club, to bo presented at the meeting this evening, shows a credit balanco for the year of .£9 15s. lid. Dunns the year 13 active members were elected and seven resignations received. The membership now stands at 40 active, 5 honorary members, 5 country members, and 3 coxswains. The club propose to sell two practico fours and ono practice pair oar and to purchase another clinker four to enablo junior members to have two fours in which to practise before boing drafted in tho senior grade. Thanks aro expressed to Mr. R. J. Crawford for his efficient coaching. Tho sum of ,£2t fls. 4d. was realised as the result of a bazaar organised by the lady members of the club. .Messrs. R. Mothes, A. G. Saunders, It. W. Short, J. Cotton, C. Lowin, 11. Palmer, E. Barnes, J. Wilson, J. Canty, and 11. Norton, and Dr. Ross are thanked for trophies" and assistance to tho club, and Messrs. R. Cruickshanks and J. Lynskey for their serrioes as auditors. Kegret is expressed at the death of Hiss K Mothes, who had assisted tho club at its social functions.

The annual sraoko concert in connection with the Petono Naval Artillery was held in the local Drill Hall on Saturday evening. There were over a hundred present. Captain Bevan, 0.C., occupied the chair and was supported by Colonel Campbell, Colonel Purdy, Major Courtney, Major Esson, Captain Gardner, and a number of others. Apologies were read from Major Johnson and Captain Richardson. A lengthy toast' list was gono through and the spo3ches were most enthusiastic. Musical items were given by Lieut. Hollis, Lieut. Kirk, Corpl. Blake, and Bombardiers May and Miller. Last year's shooting trophies wore presented as follow:— Sergt.-Major I'indlav, company's aggregate. Wilford cup and medal, and Mr. A. Cole's No. 1 company trophy; Gunner Eodwell, Hill trophy; Bombardier May, Geraldine trophy; Gunner llolloway. Webley's trophy; Gunner Pattinson. Fire Brigade trophy. Gunner Walsh secured Captain Bevan's special .trophy for snap shooting. Four swords, the property of the company in the old days, were presented to the oldest membcrs'of the corps, viz.:—Sergt.-Major Findlav, exLieut'. Woods, ex-C.P.O. Parrant," and Quartermaster-Sergt. Cruickshank.
