TOO LATE.
WHAT SEEING THE BLUFF COSTS
Threo of tho passengers wiio left for Sydney by tho Moana are determined never to be lato for a steamer again. They had made, all arrangements to leave tho Bluff for Melbourne, by tho Mokoia on Monday last. They were on board the steamer at 4 p.m., and were told that she would leave at 5 p.m. sharp but there was ample timo for a stroll round tho town. So they went to explore the Bluff, had afternoon tea, and reached tho wharf again at 5.15 p.m., to find tho Mokoia making her way to tho open highway for Hobnrt. They said and thought hard things to and about themselves, and set about making fresh plans. Those entailed a three days' delay in the south, a journey to Wellington, on to Sydney, and thence by train to Adelaide. Beforo they are safely on board the mailboat (for Loudon) in Largs Bay that extra fifteen minutes at the Bluff will cost the party nearly £30.
