THE PRINCE OF WALES.
TOUR OF EMPIRE. At the conclusion .of the Easter term in April next the Prince of Wales will have completed his studies at tho Royal Naval College at Dartmouth. He entered the college on May 6, 1909, and will thus have gone through a fairly exacting course extending over nearly two years. According to present arrangements the Prince's training is outlined up to his twenty-second year as follows:— 1909-1911 —At thelioyal Naval College. 1911-1913.—At Oxford (probably Christ Church). 1913.-1914.'—0n a tour round the Empire. 1914-191G.—lit a cavalry regiment, with intervals for f-tudy with the Royal Engineers ami lioval Artillery. .. Immediately after leaving Dartmouth his Roval Highness will commonco his studies'for a short university career, and, will most likely go into residence at the beginning of the Michaelmas term Oil October 10. 1 Tho usual four years' course at tho University will be curtailed in his Royal Highncss's caso to two years, and he will ; be attended by his present tutor—Mr. Hatisell—assisted by various .professors, according to the subjects of study chosen. Some time in 1 191.1. probably towards tho end of-'the year, the Prince of Wales will embark .with his brother, Princ© Albert, in one of: tho big, warships of the Dreadnought cruiser type for a tour round tho Empire. . • On their return tho Prince of Wales according lo precedent, will be gazetted to a cavalry regiment, while Prince Albert becomes a midshipman, most likely in tho flagship of the Homo Fleet. The great wish of the Queen is that the Prince of Wales may remain a boy as long as possible.' Consequently lie is not to be allowed to uudortako any publio duties until after he has- attained the ago of eighteen—when royalty, legally comes „ of age in England. _ 1 Though his Royal Highness will be pre-, sent at tho State opening of Parliament next month by the Kiny, his rolo will bo merely that of a spectator.
