A .SUCCESSFUL -GATHERING, On Monday last the sixteenth annual show of the Eketajiilha branch of the Farmers' Union was hejd. Tho "weather was beautifully line, and tho attendance at; the. grounds easily. constituted a' reX cord,.'visitors .being: present from all parts of tho district.'-.-In", the various events the entries were numerous and tho , competition keen'. Three'cups'were won outright during the'day. Mr. N. Nelson secured Messrs.-: Abraham ~n (i . Williams's cup in tho 13st. hacks with Czarevitch, Mr. W. J. Scdcolu won. Messrs. Dalgety and Co.'s cup in the. list.' hacks with .Caloola, and Mr. J.' Sweeney won the Wairarapa, .Farmers , . .' Association's eporgne in the high jump-•-with •-Side View. Mr. W. J.
