GROWN IN NEW ZEALAND.

A QUARTER OF ENGLAND'S WOOL. According to figures compiled by Messrs. JaCoinb,- Son, and Co., the London woblbrokers, New Zealand is England's chief fcourcc of wool supply.': In 1909 (which yeiir's:figures arc the last available), the total, import was 1,755,903 bales, and of that quantity -190,032 bales were from New Zealand,'which is over a Quarter of tho ful| quantity sexit into England. In 1907,' when tho total 'of England's TTpol export? . was 1,624,767 .bales, .: NewZealand's share was .440,538. Other countries sent' England Hie following quantities:—New Sgutb Wales, 335,G01 bales; Queensland, 129,355; Victoria, 300,993; Tasmania, 21,4Gi; South Australia, 97,800; Wfcst Australia,, 41,236; and Cape and Natal, 257,780. . . In .1908 there was ,an increase in , the wool imported to England of less than SQOO.' balc.s, .but New Zealand increased her wool business with England by about' 12,000 bales. Tho-'figures were:—New South Wales, 317,680 bales; Queensland, 148,990;'. Victoria, '275,666';'.. Tasmania, 26,605; South Australia, 83,544; West Australia, 55,569; and Cape and Natal, 234,211; total, 1,627,690.

By 1909 there was a .big increase in the total of the Old Country's imports of tho fleeces. -The total stood v at 1,755,993. Decreases, .were made by. New- ; South Wales and Queensland, and the principal increases were from .South Africa and NewZealand. ■ The Cape .and. New Zealand, however, made the creditable increase of over 47,000 bales.
