To-day's conference ends the reciprocity negotiations between Canada and the (Jnited States. The Washington press announce that an agreement has been reached,, and that there will be a substantial reduction of the duties on several natural and manufactured products of both countries. It is understood that Canada will lower her esport duties on wood pulp, and the United States is to admit Canada's farm products. A rumoured withdrawal of the wheat duties is not believed by Canadian millers and wheat-growers. OFFICIAL STATEMENT DEFERRED. New York', January 20. Negotiations 'for reciprocal trade arrangements between Canada .and the United States have been adjourned for a week. The adjournment was necessary to allow of submission to the respective Governments the outlines of the agreement reached. There will' be no official statement in the matter before the close of the negotiations.
