• THE ENTRIES. ■ The general entries for the sixteenth annual show of ,the Eketakuna branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, which is to.be held at Eketahuna next Monday,'' liavo closed. The horses entered total 63,' and tie horso entries 116. J The secretary advises that'the, entries in A tho various sections ntnubered as follow:—Farm horse, 6; troop horse, 3; buggy horse, 7;. pony, 12 hands, 4; pony, 14 -hands, 6; harness trotter, 3; driving competition, 7; horse, gig, and harness, 6; 13st. hack, 4'; list, back, 15; lady's hack; 10; hunting competition,. 7; hack pairs, 3; 2-ipi!o trot,' 6; horse jump, 4; walking horse, !); saddle trotter, 6; and one mile trot, 10. .'■.''".,' Late entries will be received up till' this evening. ■ ■ .■_ Large entries are expected in the home industries section at the Feilding Show, which is to bo held on February 7 and' B.' The committee have allotted a prize of 30s. as 'first, award in. several of the classes, and the prize-money all through is on a generous scale, for amateurs, and also in tho open classes. Ladies who intend to compete should note that entries .close on, Friday next, January 20. Sche- , 'dules may be' obtained from tho office of this journal, or from the secretary, Box 88, Feilding.
