A CHAUFFEUR'S BANKRUPTCY. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Georgo Fernandos, chauffeur, of Wellington, was held beforo tho Official Assignee (Mr. A. jitiiupson) yesterday. About half a dozen creditors wero present, either in person, or represented by counsel, Mr. Dix appeared on behalf of tho bankrupt; Mr. Grundy watched the proceedings on behalf of one of tho creditors. In the course of a lengthy statement, the bankrupt explained that from 190G to 1903 ho had traded as a fish dealer in Napier, but tho extreme scarcity of fish made things very difficult, and ho finally closed up shop with a loss of .£153, dis"posed <)f his assets, distributed'something among the creditors, and reserving tho balanco to provide the necessaries of life for himself' and family.
