January 18; 1.5 a.m.)' Ottawa, January 17. , Mr. Trovers, of tho Farmers Bank, which failed in December, has been sentenced to six years' imprisonment in a penitentiary. Summonses have been issue against four prominent residents of Toronto who were formerly provisional directors of the bank. It is alleged that they were in conspiracy to obtain j£2ooo. Dr. Nesbitt, a prominent politician, has also been summoned. Ho is charged with signing false returns of the bank's position.
