, y— HFTY-THBEE TOWN LOTS REALISE ' ~ ■ ■ ■ A special message to tho "Sydney Daily. Telegraph" states that ou Saturday, ■ November 12, interest centred in tho salo of town lots of Bullfinch. A special train arrived in the morning, {lied with visitors and buyers. Just before 2 o'clock the police cleared tho verandah of the courthouse of a surging crowd of people who were anxious to securo blocks near tho new bonanza. When tho r.tictioncer, , Mr. Clarke, of Perth, mounted the box for the purpose of selling the lots the crowd was so large that he. could not bo heard. Many women were jammed in tho crush. The day was hot and very trying to them. Before Mr. Clarke 'could finish tclliupr tho crowd, the terms of sale there were loud cries of "Time!" "Let her go!" ami "Up with' tho barrier'." When the howls subsided the auctioneer staTtcd selling tho blocks, which .were one after another knocked down nt from ,£330 to ,£BOO. Altogether 53 blocks were sold, and realised .£25,050. This is n record for the West Australian goldfields^ . After the land sale, continued the message, contracts were let for thousands of pounds' worth of buildings at Bullfinch. Tho scarcity of tradesmen may hinder progress. It is said that tho Government expect to construct a lino to tho Bullfinch at the rate of a. mile a day.
