N.Z. SURVEYORS' INSTITUTE.
■MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the council of tho Surveyors' Institute was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. J.. E iAilton (president) -in the'chair. Also present were:" Messrs. H. 'J. Wild (Palmerston North), F. T. ;Ledgor (Nelson), Thomas Humphries James M'Kerrow, and C. D. Morpeth, secretary.' , Mr. Hastings Bridge, of Christchurch, wrote- stating ' t'hat, owing :to his absence from New Zealand next year, lie would: be unable to accept rcuomination to tho Surveyors', Board. A resolution was passed heirtily congratulating Brigadier-General R. H. ©avies, C.8., D.5.0., 011 his appointment to a brigade in. the British Army at Aldershot, and assuring General Davies that the members of the council as a whole were proud of the distinction that had been conferred on a fellow member. Tlio nomination of Mr. 0. N. Campbell for election as a member of the institute, was approved. The election takes place at tho next-annual meeting. Tho annual meeting of the institute is to bo held at Dunedin 011 Wednesday, January 25, 1911. Retiring mem.bers of tho council are: Messrs. Thomas Humphries (late Survcyor-Genoral), and K. T. Ledger, of Nelson. Vacancies aro, also to bo filled in tho office of pvesidont, and in that of honorary treasurer, tho. latter formerly filled by tho late Mr.' Mason.
