WOOL, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly eale •of wool, skins, hides, and tallow yesterday afternoon. Thero was; tho. usual attendance of buyers, and good competition for all lines offered. Wool: Only oddments wero offered. Wo Quote:—Orutchings, 43d. to s}d.; dead, 4d. to 73d.; washed pieces, 6id. Sheepskins: As compared with last sale prices, showed a further decline of id. per lb. Wo Quote:—Halfbred, 7d..t0 Sd.; crossbred, good, 6Jd. to 7Jd.; crossbred, inferior, 3id. to 6d.; dead, 5d.,t0 53d.; half-wools, 4d. to si?d.; hoggets, dead and broken, sd. to 6Jd.; crossbred, damp, ,4s. lid. to 7s. lOd. (according to weight); lamb, damn, Is. 6d. Hides wero keenly, competed for, and prices showed a rise of id. ■*er lb. all round.. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Bale held yesterday as follows:—We offered a large catalogue to a rood attendance of buyers, and bidding was keen all round. Skins were about on a par with last sale's rates," whilst hides were higher by fully id. per lb. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—Our fortnightly salo was held yesterday. The usual buyers wore in attendance, and bidding for all bag wool was about equal to late rates, but sheepskins were lower by

The first wool sale of the season will take place on Tuesday, when a total ot about 1200 balea will bo offered. Levin and Company, Limited, •state:—We held our fortnightly sale yesterday, when wo 'offered a small quantity of wool, £000 sheepskins, 13C0, hir.es and calfskins, and a Quantity of! tallow and horsehair. Thero was a pood attendance of buyers. Wool: What little there was sold at current rates. Wo quote:—Crossbred, 6Jd. to Bid.; lambs' wool, 6id. to Gd.; piece? and bellies. 4d. to 5Jd.; locks, 2Jd. dead wool, 6irt. t-o Bd.; crutchmgs, 4d. to 6d. Skins: Dry skins continue on the down grade, and were cuiet a farthing down from Inst- sale's prices, but ereen skins held their .own fairly well. We quote:—Piue crosabreds, 7Jd. to 7f?d.; medium crosabreds,. 7d. to 7Jd.: coarso croosbreds, Gt\. to 7d.; de-ad hoßgots, sd. to to Sd.; lambskins, s£d. to GJd.; nuart-er to half-wools, 4Jd. t-o 6d.; dry pelts, to 3*d.: green skins, fla. 2d. to 65.; spring lombs, is. to Is. 7d. Bd. per dozen. Hides: Ox hides were steady at last sale's rates,' but cows' and kips sold better than for some time past. Calfskins were firm at last Rale's prices. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., report Our catalogue yesterday represented 2CCO sheepskins, 4CO hides and calfskins, and somo 25 packages tallow. There was a large atteudanee of buyer*, and bidding proceeded throughout the Bale with erispnees and vigour. Prices for sheepskins were fully on a par with last sale, wliiio hides showed an advance of fully a. farthing per 11)., and were very keenly bid for at thia ndvancc.
