HOLSTEIN-FRIESIAN BULLS.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Liini--,ted,, Palinorston NorthV report' having sold on account of , Mr. Vf. I. Lovelock, Fitzlierbert.V Palmerston ■ North, two purebred Holstein-Friesian bulls, one a calf and the other a yearling, the purchaser being: Mr. Charles Hopping, of Eongotea, The'yearling; for which .the price was> 100. guineas, is a very, fine animal named" "Lady of Cliffside Laddie,", and is by-"Cliffside Laddie," dam "Lady of Cliifside," who won the championship butter-fat competition, at the: Manawatu Show, giving" as high as 801b.. of, milk a day. ■ This cow has imilked right through the whole season, and has just 'come in again, giving over 701b. milk a day. Tho calf, which is almost perfectly marked, and for which 40' guineas - was' paid, is'by "Sir'Neil Clotliilde," dam "Lady van Cleve." It seems that the. Holstein cattle are becoming not.only, in the Manawatu district, but all over the D.omin T ion, and.breeders of this.class are now so numerous that,, at the last daily show in Palinerston North, an , association was formed',;., and is now being ■ brought into : working order.
