The barometer has. risen . considerably above normal everywhere, but a Blight fall in tho south on Saturday afternoon preceded a more rapid;rise and rough weather about Poveaux Strait on Saturday and Sunday nights. Changeable weather has been experienced generally, and tlio nißhts havo been oold. Present indications aro for a falling barometer everywhere shortly, and especially in the south, where conditions aro now somowhat threatening. Tho winds will probably veer to easterly in tho north and northerly in tho south and freshen everywhere. Tho weather win probably be "unsettled in both the extreme north and south, . and - increasing haziness prevail elsewhere. TJ. C., BATES. Meteorological Office Wellington, October .17. 1910, '•
