A boy twelve, years of age, named Hari'y Evans, who had. been caught oh the premises o£ a marine store dealer by a policeman,, was charged 1 before the Coventry Bench with being, on. the place for an unlawful, purpose. The. policeman, said that the/boy. stated.that,,a man:had pushed him through, with instructions to take money fribm a drawer: At a common lodginghouse he pointed .but this man,.who was arrested. The boy was the principal witness in tho case apainst this man, named Mason, and said that the prisoner had pushed ' him through . the: window on three previous occasions • to that on which-he was caught. He had twice got inoney out of the drawer. and> handed it to the prisoner, who . each time .gave him a penny. When the. wit- , riess failed, to any:!money' Mason refused to help him back through' the window, Mason was ,senitenced to three months and . the boy placed under probation. '• . ...
