Taihapei The Anglican Missidner, (the Rev. J. Darby) '.was received oh Thursday October 6. The church w - as well -filled vn Friday night, and thirty or forty: joined in 1 the procession, or rogation service, which left the" churph at:' 7. p.m.' with torches and banner,' the clergy' and people; chanting the Litany.' On Saturday night' an open-air service was held, the clergy, in robes, and the people singing hymns in procession .from the' church. Between .four and five hundred-, people, assembled, the inissioner and the vicar (the Rev. P. W.i Clarkson) giving ad : dresses.. The'service ;was remarkable. Sunday .was. a very, full day, large qongre(rptions assembling, at every -service, ..of which, there, were eight,: at three .various cfcitU'cs. Tiiere. were. ;iour celebrations, and over CO communicants. : St." Margaret's Church on Sunday, night, was crowded, sixty extra seats having to' be put in .'the' church, and a few. were then unable to find room. Over one hundred stayed to the prayer.,meeting., .;
Foxton (All;.Saints'):—The. mission-be-. gan;at Foxton on Saturday; .last.. AH the .services have been, exceptionally well attended, and the Sunday." evening service' was a record. Half ah hour before the service began, the church'was filled, and very shortly , all the . extra seating was taken' up. The vestry was then thrown open, and quickly filled. The Missioner (the!tov..A. H. Cdlvile): is a brilliant speaker. Gifted with a splendid voice, a remarkable flow of language, and a commanding personality, he, at once, arrests the attention oralis.;hearers.-.'." '..; !;.-...'.
