WOOL, TALLOW AND SKIN SALES.
+ Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow yesterday afternoon. Good catalogues were offered to a large attendance of buyers. Prices all round showed a falling off as compared with late sales. Wood.—The market lor wool and erutchings showed a decline of from id. to 3d. per lb.. Wo quote: Medium crossbred, 7Jd. to 7*d.; good erutchings, to 6£d.; inferi6r do., 4?d. to 51d.; pieces, 5Jd.; locks, 4d. Sheepskins: In sympathy with the fall in price of wool, sheepskins also showed a declinc on late rates. We quote: Half-bred, 83d.; crossbred, good, 73t1. to Bid.; crossbred medium, 64a. to yjd.j half-wools, G*d. to 7d.; pelts, 2d. to 4:Ju.; butchers' green, 6s. to 6s. Gd.; do., damp, 3s. lOd. to bs. 2d. Hides; These snowed a falling off as compared with recent quotations of id. to ijd. per ib. We quote—Ox, heavy, 6gd.j medium, fid. to ogd.; cow, medium, sd. to G£d.; bull, s£d. to S.ftl.; horse, 9s. 3d. to lis. each; calf, Kd. to 9jjd.; do., cut and inferior, 43d. to 6d. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their sale ay followsWe oli'ered a good catalogue, comprising 30 bales wool, 15tu skins, and 2CO hides and sundries, to a largo attendance of buyers. There was only _ a moderate selection of crutcliings oiienng, and prices were slightly easier, whilst hides showed a fall in value to tho extent of Jul. per lb. Skins were on a par with last sale. We quote:—Wool: ltough crossbred, 7*d. to 7Ad.; medium crutchmss, heavy condition, sld. to 6(1.; lambs, locks, 4d. Skins: Bough crossbred,71d.; half-wools, coarse, 6ijd. to 7i*d.; medium, 7Jd.; dead, 53d.; short and inferior, 2Jd. to 4J.; pelts, 4Jd.; butchers' half-dry and green heavy, 7s. 2d. to 7s. 4d. ; medium, 6s. to 6s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:— Tliere was a good attendance of buyers at our sale yesterday. . We oli'ered about 50 bales of wool* about 2G(iO skins, aud also hides and; tallow. Crutchings were about ad. lu.; hides, from id. to «u., and tallow about 10s. lower; sheepskins and lleece wool about on level of lust sales. We quote:—Wool: Half bred, inferior, yd. per lo.; crossbred, inferior, 7d. to Bd. per lb.; crossbred, stragglers, 6d. to Gid. per lb.; crutchingg, medium, s}d, to o*d. per lb.; crutohings, inferior and seedy, Ad. to lid. per lb. Skins: Full-wooled, coarse, Yd. to Vid..; quarter to half-wooia, 5Jd. to 7*d.; dead and broken, sd. to 0d:; lambskins, woolly, 7d. to Vid.; lambskins, shorn, flija. to 6a.; green and salted-skins, 3s. to bs. Levin and Compauy, Limited, report;—We held our fortnigntly sale yestorday, Mvhen we offered 9u baiea of wool, 2800 sheepskins, 300 hides and calfskins, and a Quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers. Wool: Competition wa3 good, any clean crutchings being keenly competed for, but dingy lots were rather weaker. We quote:—Fine crossbred, 9di to lled.; coarse crossbred, 7Jd. to lambs' wool, 7£d. to 9d.; pieces and bellies, 4Jd. to 6d.; locks, 2*d. to 4Jd.; crutchings, 4d. to 7jcl Skins: Dry skins were about a farthing per. lb. under recent prices, but green skins sold up to full value. We quote:— Fine crossbreds, Bd. to B*d.; mecuum crossbreds, 7d. to Bd.; eoarso erossbreda. Gd. to 7£d.; hogget skins, 6d. to 6id.; dead •skins, 4d. to 6id.; dead hoggets, sd. to 6d.; lamb sklnsi 53d. to 7Ad.; quartor to halfwools, 4d. .to 7id.; dry pelts, . 2£d. to 6c1.; green skins, 3s. Calf also showed a decline of id. to 3d. per lb. Messrs. Murray, Jioberts and Co.. Ltd.,' : i * c submitted a catalogue of about 100 bales wool, 3200 sheepskins, and 300 macs to a representative attendauce of buyers. Competition was hardly so keen as at last sale, and both crutchings and hides showed an easier market, boing Jully a farthing lower than last week. 1 hero were, however, no superior lots of crutchings shown in our catalogue. Sheepskins maintained their prices, with the exception of green lots, which were a triiie easier.
