The City Fire Brigade received a call to Newtown at 4.10 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Plumbers at work in a house in course of erection at No. 12 Komvyn Terrace had accidentally set fire to the scrim on the walls of ouo room, with tho result that some damage was done to the lining boards.
On Monday next, commencing at 11 a.m., Messrs. Thompson Bros, will sell general merchandise, crockery, and gro-ceries,-also. 70 pieces bacon, cash register, .and sundries. The same firm will hold a sale of nursery stock on account of Mr. ;H. M'llillah, of the Blackbridge Nursery. The time of the sale is I .o'clock.
