ACCIDENT AT TEERACE END. (By Teleeraph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, May 2. Airs. Sheppard, sen., 75 years of age, was thrown from a trap at Terrace End yesterday, through the horse falling. She had ' several ribs broken, and sustained other injuries, and is in a somewhat critical condition. She- had a lfttlo granddaughter in her arms at tho timo, and the child received some vory severe bruises.

BOY THROWN PROSE HOESB. Palmerston, May 2. A little boy, son of Mr. Hull, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, Bulls, aged six years, was admitted to the Palmerston Hospital yesterday, suffering from a compound fracture of the skull, and is now in, a very critical condition. The boy, it appears, was thrown from his horse, and received a kick on the head.

OIL LAUNCH EXPLOSION FATAL. (By Telesrapli.-Press Aeaociation.l Thames, May 2. The man Brennan, who sustained severs injuries by burning, owing to an explosion on an oil launch, which sot fire to benzine, died at the hospital. Brennan, who .was journeying to Hauraki, lay asleep in his cabin. An. acetylene lamp exploded and set fire to the contents o{ the benzine tanks. Brennan had the pre- v sence of mind to wrap himself in Wankets, otherwise he would have been horribly burned. As it was, hie face, head, and hands were injured.

TWO MEN KILLED. ' Christchurch, May 2. K verdict of accidental death was returned at tho inquest on Edward Bobt. Hannanv who was killed in a trap accident at Spriugfiold on Saturday. Hannam had tried to turn too sharply, and the trap had overturned,- pinning him beueath.

James Adam Grose died in tho hospital on Saturday, as the result of injuries received at Scargill a v;eek ago. Evidence at the inquest showed that he had been, driving a wagon, and as the horses wer& trotting down the hill ho fell forward under their feot.

CALLIOPE DOCK: TWO ACCIDENTS. Auckland, May 2. Two accidents happened in tho Calliope Dock this afternoon. A man named James Kane, a fireman on tho Irk, slipped and fell to the floor of the dock, eustaining severe injnries. Prank Watts was shipping a pile, when ho fell and had his leg fractured in two places.
