Perkins, who is the local representative of the New 2ea land Athletic Union, attended at tho Greymouth District' High School for the purpose of presenting the medals to tho winners of the relay race run at the recont championship sports meeting held at Greymouth, and also to hand over to Mr. Adams, headmaster of the school a challenge cup. '

After addressing the boys, and presenting the cup to the headmaster, Mr Per kins called for cheers'for the successful competitors, and also for the donor ■nf the cup, Mr. E. M. Sheedy, and°t t quite unnecessary to say that they were heartily given. The cup, which is a handsome aoid val uable one, must be won twice in succeC sion before it becomes tho absolute nro pert)- of the school to which the winl mug team may belong, and there is little, doubt but that teams from" other school will make determined efforts to wrest it .from the-.present holders.
