AN INTERESTING EVENT. : One of the most successful events infl the- history of the Thofndon Club was! decided at the Thorndon baths last, evening, viz., the L. W. Ludwig cap.- This race decided who was to hold! tho Challenge Cup presented by . ,Sir, Joseph Ward for the present year.; Thai club s handicapper (Mr. Barry . Smithy showed one of liis best efforts. Thaj result was.: F. Roberts (20sec), 1; C, Brico (12sec.), R. Nelson (35sec.), andj R. Healy (scratch), dead heat, Also competed: E. Donovan, H. Kellyj A. W. Smith, K. Wiggins, G.-Bruce* V. L. Allan, E. Picpt, ■ and a A-, M'Dona'kL Time,. 2min. 53sec. Healy's time equalled'the New Zealand? ■record, 2min. 40sec. The win was very popular, and cheers were given for. the winner; also for C. S. The final race (220 yds.) for the Crouch Cup was decided at the Tβ Aio! baths last evening by the Y.M.C.A., Club. The result was: R. Parton,. 40sec, 1; W. G. Morpeth, 29sec., 2..,1 E.G.
