In conneotion with the trial of Dr. Carlo Fiaachi' and Nurse Young on the charge of manslaughter of the gixl Nightingale at Lithgow on January 10, the judge, in directing the jury to discharge the two accused, said in view of the second examinaiion which dis--covered the supposed missing organ the Crown case utteriy fai1ed....... Evidently a mistake had been made. ' ■'..'.'. The jury added to their verdict of "not guilty", a rider stating that there was no evidence that the operation was unskilfully performed by Dr. Fiaselii. [During the hearing.-.of the case a doctor, who had previously stated that there was no indication of an operation for hemorrhoids, and that an important organ was missing, gave evidence that the supposed missing organ had been found, in the presence of a'ntunber of medical experta, attached to another organ. There were also indications of an operation for hemorrhoids. Under the circumstance? he therefore reversed his previous, evidence, which arose through the abnormal. condition of the organs.] . ... : ~ '.
