THE RELATIONS OF CENTRES.

A meeting of the committee of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club was held yesterday .afternoon, Mr.'AV. H. Pollock (president) being in the chair. Tho chairman moved that tho commitee of tho W.A.A.C. draw the attention of the Wellington Centre of the |. N.Z.A.A. Association to a . resolution passed at a mee'ting of the centre, held on March 14, and • which read as fo'lows:—"Thnt this centre, controlling as it does the sport • in Wellington, would like to assure tho Auckland Centre that correspondence sent to the latter city 'other, than that sent through the secretary of this centre is of no official value, and has not the approval of members of the "Wellington Centre." The mover added:' committee strongly resents, an ill-advised attempt on the part, of ,: tho'■'• local'-centre to usurp the functions of amateur athletic clubs within its jurisdiction, and further repudiates the right of tho centre to dictate to this or any club's officials with reference to tile mariner in' which clubs domestic arrangements are conducted so long as tho rules are complied with. ' . . . . ■ ';■ Mr. C.- E. Bridge seconded the motion. After hearing- the explanation,- of Mr. H.: S. Robinson, who movd the resolution complained of at the meeting of the Wellington Centro, it was decided to adjourn until after the next meeting of tho centre. . .. "WINDING UP." A joint meeting of tho Wellington and Port Nicholson Amateur Athletic Club 3 was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. W. H. Pollock presiding. The meeting was called for the purpose of winding \.p the combined sports . meeting held on March 5. •/The balance-sheet submitted showed a debit' balance of £16, which was duo to the inclemency of the weather, militating'against the largo attendance which was expected, more especially as an elaborate programme had been drawn up.
