Shortly after 9 o'clock flamea • broko out- in the new portion of the . scliool, comprising four rooms. Tht fire brigade arrived on the scene, hut, as no water was available, .they woir powerless to isuppress the outbreak e . Tho new portion, of tiho school: was •burned to. the ground. Tho older part of the building, comprising two rooms, being dotcched from tlo mor« reccnt .addition, escaped destruction. The school was built of wood, on con-, crete' foundations. The part that wai» destroyed was hiiiit- only about twelva . ■months ago, ami cost about £1000, The cause of the fire is unknown. \ .; ;
