The Hon. T. Maokenzie, Minister _ for Agricultnre, returned from Ms visit to the Wereroa State faimiTßsterday. The Hon. E. H. J.' Reeves, MJLC, is at present on a visit to Wellington. 'The Eev. Dr.''Cleary - has (says the "Tablet/ , of : which ■ paper he is editor) had a very agreeable time in Uruguay and 1 Buenos Ayres. He spent some days in Monte Video, where he was .received with great cordiality:by the.bishop, thecathedral, clergy,, the Salesian Fathers in their great workshop schools, and the Jesuit' Fathers who are in charge of .the. fine ecclesiastical seminary there. .' Froin Monte Video Dr. Cleary went inland as far as Coluiiia, meeting everywhere with the greatest courtesy from the clergy and. from lay fellow travellers. From Colonic ho crossed to Buenos Ayres, a four-hours' -. trip by steamer across the great Plata Eiver, which looks like a wide arm of the 6ea. In Buenos .Ayres the Bey. Dr. (Jkary was at time of writing the ■ guest of tho learned and genial Vicar-General of the arch-diocese. Every, day was . 6pent _in visiting the great educational, charitable, and other institutions with which.the city abounds.
