NEARLY .£300,000 FOR CHARITIES. (3) Mr.-, Pullman left i200,'000 upon trust for each of his daughters, Florence Lowden and Harriet Cardlaw, and their respective issue; .£250,000 upon trust- for his wife, Mrs. Hattio Sanger Pullman, for life, with remainder to his residuary estate; .£IO,OOO each to his wife, his brothers, Royal Henry Pullman, James M. Pullman, and his sisters, Helen. PnlLman West and Emma Pullman Fluher; his residence and his household effects to his wife for life, with remainder to ■. his daughters. Concerning his sons ho stated that:— "Inasmuch as neither of my sons has developed 6uch a sense of responsibility as, in my judgment, is requisite for the wise use of largo, sums, of money, I am painfully compelled, as I \ have explicitly stated to :thom, to limit, my testamentary provisions for their bonefit to trusts producing only such income as I.deem reasonable for their support." He, therefore, left on trust for each of his sons, George Mortimer Pullman, and Walter Sanger Pullman, only such a sum as shall produce an alnual income of .£6OO, with the reversion of the capital to their children. Subject to several other bequests, he left the residue of his property ,to his. two daughters.
