Its object was to bring together- the foreign' and tho colonial elements of the community, so as, by means of lectures, . convorsazioucs, recitations, etc to spread a knowledge, of different nationalities and different points of view. 'It would obtain as many photographs as possible, in order to' disseminate what was said'iir the club It w ml"J"?;*"- a -thoroughly democratic character • 1 he following officers-were elected:—President' Mr. A. A. Si Mententh; vice-presidents, the foreign Consuls in Wellington, subject to their consent; committee. Dr. Borghotti (chairman), Dr. Napier Maclean,. and the Hon. E. He had overy,: sympathy with the 'object of tho club, and wished it tho greatest'success. The remainder of the evening was devoted to an enjoyable musical, programme and social intercourse. '... , .
