(By Tcleernph.-Special Oorrcanondont;) Hastings, August 22 For the second day of tho hockoy tournament, the weather was ideal, and there was a largo attendance of the public from Hastings, Napier and surrounding districts Play was of a high order, especially that in tho match "between Hawke's }iay and'Wairarapa A. During the various games one or two minor accidents happened, Miss Wellwood and Miss Hunt,, of Hawke's Bay, and Miss Terry, of 1 Wairarapa, receiving slight injuries. > In the match. Taranaki v Hawke's Bay B team, Taranaki had decidedly the better of tho game all through, and the final score was Taraniki, 3 loals, Havke's B«y U, nil Misses Ogilvie, Young, and M'Ewan, were the scorers Horowhenua v. Wairarapa A v. Hawke's Bay A.—This was tho best match of tho'day, aud was very fast and even throughout. Obstructions wero, however, noticeable. In tho first spell Wairarapa shot a goal, but the ball went through the net, and the referee, apparently not seeing it, disallowed the goal Hawke's Bay eventually won by 3 goals to nil. After this match, a protest was lodged by Wairarapa for the goal which had been diaallowed, but, after consideration by the committee, the protest was dismissed. AUCKLAND (4) V.
