In a letter to the "Daily Telegraph" (London), an Essex farmer stated:—"Every sheep that has bean fattened in this country during the past sis months has entailed a lose to tho owners of from 6a. to 10s. per head: and when we read that one singlo vossol recently sailed from New Zealand, carried a cargo of 21,800 carcassos of Jamb, 18,000 carcasses of sheep; and 20,000 bales of wool, it is perhaps not to bo wondored at."
