RAILWAY OFFICERS' CONFERENCE

The amendment of tho Classification' Act I in "oases where members are superseded by other n members. 'Also, .'that-the: Appeal Board supjjly the appellant with a copy of the finding 1 as. forwarded,-to. the"Mfnister. - f (2) That a responsible, board (within tho. service) bo set up to consider the qualifications of jnembers for. promotion to higher positions in tho servico, and to administer the same. This is considered necessary with li view to re-' j moving the present feeling of dissatisfaotion amongst.members._ ." . , . (3) That tho Minister be'.aslced to affirm the ,i principle of 18 hours per week for all offioers, i, and to amend the Superannuation Aot, so that jj members: retrenched at any time will receive £ the same treatment as memwrs temporarily re- i, tired through- ill-health. » . ,(•}) That tho- Minister's attention be drawn to the different interpretations'of tho Govern- I meat Railways Classification Acts of 1901 and 1 1907, and that he bo asked to interpret the 1807 Act .in a similar manner to that of tho 1901 Act;'by, giving annual increments on tho anniversary of appointment. i . ;.
