The Magistrate! Then l am quite satisfied they live as well as I do. Mr. H. Moore, chairman, of the house 11 committee. produced a plate of pudding in £ Court, ana said had he been hunger he could " have made a very good meal from it. a The magistrate said the case had opened tho eyes of the ratepayers, hundreds of whom could not get the necessaries of life, while the inmates of the workhouse were enjoying n excellent food. /. .... a One of the men, named Mayor, was' sen- p tencod to 21 days', and the others to 14 days' imprisonment. .
