The Arbitration Court, in tho claim by Mrs. Pierccy to recover £400 from Macklow Bros., as compensation for tho death of her husband, master of tho wrecked scow Kai Ora, hold that Captain Pjeroey was a partner, even though ho was paid wages. . The father of Thomas Young, a seaman drowned in tho Ea Ora wreck, claimed oomponsation from Macklow Bros, for tho death of his son. The Court found that claimant 'and his wife wcro; not dependent on the deceased, and were thoreforo .not .entitled to any compensation., ' In tho case Mahon v. the Grand Junction Gold .Mining Company, a mother claimed for tho (Rath of her son through injuries received while assisting to-start on'air compressor engine. The Court found that tho accident aroso .in tho course of deceased's employment and awarded £120 compensation.
