Saturday's proceedings took tho form of a seven-aside football tournament among the various Wairarapa lodges,' and resulted .in the Carterton Druids' team winning tho shield. This (bunday) afternoon, a monster procession was lieldj in which tho Municipal Band, fire police, foresters, Hihomians, Druids, Oddfellows, Mastcrton South Band, Good Templars, and Itechabitcs, took part. The procession, after inarching through the town, assembled in tho park, where suitable addi'esses wore raado by Mr. D. L. Boilings, Mayor; Mr. J. B. Keith, chairman of tire Masterton Hospital Trustees; and Mr. E. Pragneii, president of the Friendly SocioI ties Council. Collections were taken up by an army of energetic girls on both days, but tho result of their efforts is not yet available. A large sura is, however, expected to bo realised. , 1 ; : , CARTERTON. Mr. Thomas' Walden, cadet in the local lost Ollice, has resigned his position on account of health. Mr. C. Hall takes his placo, and Mr." A. liassett joins the staff as a telegraph messenger. Church held their annual meeting on Friday even-' ing,. there being a fair attendance. The reports and balance-sheets of the Church anS ounuay .School were read and adopted, both' disclosing a satisfactory state of affairs, ihe election of officers resulted:' Vicar's warden, Mr. G. Leach; people's warden, Mr. {■ Maunsell; vostry, Messrs H. S. Moss, J. J..Mead, V. Higgins, A, King, W. Howard Booth, W. Tucker, and F. Court. Mr. C. H.
