Finch and 1 Upham,, visited Quail Island to-day in order to soo what is being done for , tho ' leper patients. At. present thero aro {wo oil tJio island, a European and a Maori. ■ These have. hid. sovero' attacks of the disease, but. aro now very much recovered.- Tho; European's case was a very sovoro one, and Nastin. treatment has boeii used, it is reported, with good results. Mlo pationt himself stated that no had greatly benefited by tho treatment. : The Minister found that the patients wore well-accommodated in sinill shelters in a wellshaded spot, and each had an apartment for himself. They expressed themselves an well' pleased with , their troatinont, and hopeful as to tho future. ■ Mrl'_ Buddo; informed a newspaper' representative that ho was of opinion that tho bost; measTires possible'wore' being carried out for 1 thoso who deserved a great deal of publio sympathy. • • *
