At Miramar this afternoon, the April meeting: ;of the Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club will be concluded, and the increasing popularity of pony racing should ensure a good attendance at to-day's fixture. Capital entries have been recoived for the different events, and starters should bo plentiful. It should be noted that the- first race to-day is set down for 2.20 p.m., ten minutes earlier than usual, and tho last event will be ran at a quarter pnst five. Special trams will •. ran., from Courtenay Place to the racecourse at frequent intervals after noon, and in addition to these there will be the ordinary Miramar cars running via Lambton Quay. WANGANUI J.C. WINTER MEETINC. At the Winter meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club, which is to be held on May 22 and 24, the sum of £2500 will bo distributed mistakes. The programme,has been altered somewhat from what it was in previous yeari, and'.there are now only two steeplechases to bo' decided art tho fixture, the Wanganui Steeplechase of 400 sovs., three ■miles, on the first day, and the Grandstand Steeplechase, of 260 sovs^. two miles and a half, on the .second day. The Century Hurdle Race will bo.decided on the first day, and the May Hurdle Race on the second day. Two hack. hurdle races remain as usual, and the remaining four races on each day's programme are decided on the flat. The principal flat race on the first day is the Connolly Handicap,, of 250 sovs., one mile and a quarter, and on the second day the Empire Handicap, ofM75 sovs., one milo and a-distanco.
