AN ADDITION OF 3} MILLIONS PER ANNUM. (11l TELEGIUriI-MIKSS ASSOCUTIOK-CoriBIOHT.) (Rec. April 8, 11.5 p.m.) London, April 8.. In tho House of Commons, the President of the Local Government Board, Mr. John Burns, stated that tho approaching abolition of tho pauper disqualification (under which a person who has received poor relief since January 1, 1908, cannot receive an old ago pension) would mean 217,000 additional old ago ponsioners, and an additional cost of £2,256,800 per annum.
